This product is a 25 g/L deltamethrin emulsifiable concentrate (EC) formulation, belonging to the pyrethroid class of broad-spectrum contact and stomach-action insecticides. Deltamethrin is a Type II pyrethroid that acts primarily by modulating voltage-gated sodium channels in the insect nervous system, prolonging channel opening and disrupting normal nerve impulse transmission, leading to rapid paralysis and death. It exhibits strong lipophilicity, facilitating rapid penetration through the insect cuticle, with rapid knockdown and long-lasting residual control.
Suitable for various crops such as rice, cotton, vegetables (cabbage, tomato, okra, eggplant, chilli, etc.), fruit trees (mango, citrus, apple), maize, soybeans, beans, tobacco, tea, and ornamental plants. Key Functions
Deltamethrin is a synthetic Type II pyrethroid insecticide developed by Roussel Uclaf (later acquired by Bayer) and first registered for agricultural use in 1978. It is one of the most potent pyrethroid insecticides, characterized by high insecticidal activity at very low dose rates. Deltamethrin acts primarily on the insect nervous system by modulating voltage-gated sodium channels (Nav). As a Type II pyrethroid, deltamethrin prolongs the opening of sodium channels by slowing down fast inactivation and deactivation, causing continuous nerve stimulation, excessive neurotransmitter release, and eventual paralysis and death of the insect. This mechanism of action is classified as IRAC Group 3A (Sodium channel modulators — Pyrethroids, Pyrethrins). The compound exhibits strong lipophilicity (log Kow approximately 4.6–6.1), which facilitates rapid adsorption onto the insect cuticle and efficient penetration into the insect body, resulting in a rapid knockdown effect. Deltamethrin is a non-systemic insecticide with predominantly contact and stomach action. It has very low water solubility and low vapor pressure, providing good rainfastness and residual activity on treated surfaces. Deltamethrin exhibits an anti-feeding effect, causing insects to stop feeding soon after exposure. It is highly effective against a broad spectrum of chewing and sucking insect pests. Deltamethrin is highly toxic to aquatic organisms (fish and aquatic invertebrates) and honeybees, and appropriate precautions must be taken during application to minimize non-target exposure.
