This product is a 200 g/L chlorantraniliprole suspension concentrate (SC) formulation, belonging to the anthranilic diamide class of broad-spectrum insecticides. Chlorantraniliprole acts primarily by activating ryanodine receptors (RyR) in insect muscle cells, causing uncontrolled release of calcium ions from internal stores, leading to muscle paralysis, feeding cessation, and death. Chlorantraniliprole is a synthetic anthranilic diamide insecticide developed by DuPont (now FMC Corporation) and first registered for agricultural use in 2007. It is a highly effective insecticide that acts primarily on ryanodine receptors (RyR) in insect muscle cells. By binding to and activating these receptors, chlorantraniliprole causes uncontrolled release of calcium ions from the sarcoplasmic reticulum, leading to depletion of calcium stores, muscle paralysis, feeding cessation, and ultimately death. This mechanism of action is classified as IRAC Group 28 (Ryanodine receptor modulators — Diamides). Chlorantraniliprole is a systemic insecticide with contact and stomach action. It exhibits excellent translaminar movement and can be taken up by roots, providing protection to new growth. It is highly effective against a broad spectrum of lepidopteran pests, including many resistant populations, and also has activity against some other chewing insects. Chlorantraniliprole has low mammalian toxicity and is relatively safe to many beneficial arthropods, making it compatible with Integrated Pest Management (IPM) programs. However, it is toxic to aquatic invertebrates and appropriate precautions must be taken to minimize non-target exposure. It provides rapid feeding inhibition — pests stop feeding within minutes to hours after exposure — and long-lasting residual control.
