Fluopyram 400g/L SC Fungicide

This product is a 400g/L fluopyram suspension concentrate (SC), a broad-spectrum systemic fungicide and nematicide. It belongs to the succinate dehydrogenase inhibitor (SDHI) class, acting on the mitochondrial respiratory chain (complex II) to inhibit succinate dehydrogenase activity, thereby blocking electron transfer and ATP synthesis. This leads to the death of pathogens and nematodes. It provides both protective and curative activity and is effective against a wide range of fungal diseases and plant-parasitic nematodes.

Description

It is suitable for application on a wide range of crops including vegetables (tomato, cucumber, pepper), potatoes, grapes, pome fruits (apple, pear), bananas, citrus, tobacco, and field crops. It controls diseases such as gray mold (Botrytis cinerea), powdery mildew, early blight (Alternaria solani), sclerotinia rot, leaf spot diseases, and also provides effective control of root-knot nematodes (Meloidogyne spp.) and other soil-borne nematodes. Please use at the recommended dose in areas where the product has been registered and approved.

Key Functions

This product is a 400g/L fluopyram suspension concentrate (SC). Fluopyram is a pyridinylethylbenzamide fungicide and nematicide that belongs to the succinate dehydrogenase inhibitor (SDHI) class (FRAC Group 7). It acts on the mitochondrial respiratory chain (complex II) of fungi and nematodes, inhibiting the activity of succinate dehydrogenase, a key enzyme in the tricarboxylic acid (TCA) cycle. This blocks electron transfer and disrupts ATP synthesis, depriving the target organisms of the energy required for cellular division and growth. Fluopyram inhibits multiple stages of pathogen development, including spore germination, germ tube elongation, mycelial growth, and sporulation. It exhibits systemic properties with translaminar activity and acropetal (xylem) movement within plants, providing protection to newly developing tissues. It has both protective and curative activity and is recommended for application at early stages of disease development or as a preventative measure.

Key Benefits

1. This product contains 400g/L fluopyram, a highly effective SDHI fungicide with a unique mode of action. It provides broad-spectrum control of major fungal diseases including gray mold (Botrytis cinerea), powdery mildew, early blight (Alternaria solani), sclerotinia rot, and various leaf spot diseases across more than 70 crops.

2. In addition to its fungicidal activity, fluopyram is the first SDHI-class nematicide that effectively controls root-knot nematodes (Meloidogyne spp.) and other soil-borne nematodes. It acts fast to protect roots from planting to harvest, promoting strong and healthy root development.

3. It exhibits excellent systemic and translaminar properties, being absorbed by roots and leaves and distributed throughout the plant via xylem movement. It is rainfast and provides long-lasting residual control, reducing the need for frequent applications. It is also effective at very low application rates, making it an economical choice.

4. The SC formulation is easy to handle, measure, and mix in water, with excellent suspension stability. It has a favorable environmental profile and low toxicity to mammals, making it suitable for integrated pest management (IPM) programs. It also shows no cross-resistance with other fungicide classes, making it a valuable tool for resistance management.
