Description

This product is a 200g/L imidacloprid soluble liquid. Imidacloprid is a chloronicotinyl insecticide that acts as a potent agonist at the postsynaptic nicotinic acetylcholine receptors (nAChRs) in the insect nervous system. Binding to these receptors causes continuous stimulation, leading to overexcitation, tremors, paralysis, and eventual death. It has excellent systemic properties, being readily absorbed by roots and foliage, and translocated acropetally (upward) through the xylem to protect newly developing plant tissues. It also exhibits translaminar activity, providing control of pests on the underside of leaves. Its high selectivity for insect nAChRs over mammalian receptors ensures a favourable safety profile. The compound is stable in plants and provides long residual activity, effectively managing a broad spectrum of sucking and some chewing pests.
